Chevelle Concert – Orange Loop Festival 2022 (Atlantic City, NJ)

I’m writing this on September 21, 2022, and this concert was on June 11, 2022. So it’s been a few months.

I originally had this concert information on the About Me page but decided to create a Concerts category. This is what happens when you create websites. They are living, breathing things, and they constantly change.

Anyway, that’s why I’m writing about this concert so late and why this shows up after the concert I just attended (OC Bikefest in OCMD), which looks a little confusing.

But the Orange Loop concert in AC is what kicked off this website for me. So, I guess it’s kind of important to document it.

This was the concert that inspired me to make this website. Why? Who knows? I got really into Chevelle and I also like making websites. I had an urge to do it, and I have learned in my many years of living to always follow those urges.

So here we are!

The Orange Loop Festival concert was kind of a weird one for a couple of reasons:

  1. It was originally supposed to be outside, but there was a threat of bad weather so they moved it inside. (The weather turned out to be nice. Oh well.) Inside was a dingy, dark place. It was kind of a cool atmosphere, but outside would have been much nicer.
  2. Chevelle didn’t come on until 10:30. AT NIGHT!

This is basically me past 8 PM…

So it was a LATE ONE for us. (We also had a 2-hour drive home.)

With all of that in mind, there weren’t a ton of people at this show. That was good and bad. I like when there are a lot of people because the energy is good and it’s a lot more fun.

However, with the lack of people, it allowed us to be quite close, and I was even able to snag a guitar pick that Pete threw at the end.

(BTW, I am determined to get one of Sam’s drumsticks at a future show…I’ll keep you posted on that one!)

Overall, it was a good show and I’m so happy that we went! My husband and I were trying to figure out how many other times we’d seen them before this. We definitely saw them in Philadelphia several years ago. I think it was at the Fillmore in 2017.

That may have been the only other time, but my husband and I (and probably my daughter now too!) have vowed to go see them whenever they’re within driving distance from us.

Hopefully they’ll head back this way soon!

Anyway, back to this concert…

One other notable thing about this day is that when we first walked into the place, the dude from Ratt, Stephen Pearcy, was singing “Round and Round.” So that was pretty interesting.
