I’m sure you all know by now that Sick New World 2025 was cancelled.
When we first saw the lineup, we were pretty disappointed because it didn’t have the feel of the first two Sick New World shows.
With Metallica headlining, it was more hair metal and less Nu Metal.
But…
We love Metallica and at least 6 other bands performing, so we decided to spring for those VIP tickets again.

I was excited again because I friggin’ love Las Vegas! We had plans to see magician Shim Lim and the show, Absinthe. I was ready to strut around the casinos in my brand-new Sando shirt I got from the Vegas Matt shop. (Not an affiliate link. I just love Vegas Matt and crew.)
Unfortunately, those plans came crashing down when Sick New World announced the show was cancelled.
I read about some rumors of it being cancelled on a Facebook group I’m in, but I thought, “Eh, that’s just a rumor. That’s never going to happen.”
Well, I was wrong.
Then after some disappointment, we came up with a new plan…
We’re going to Welcome to Rockville 2025, and we sprung for VIP again. (Which, was half the cost of Sick New World.)
While it’s a multi-day event, we’re only going on Sunday.
Why?
Chevelle’s going to be there!
We’re excited about seeing many of the other bands too, including Korn, which will be about our zillionth time seeing them.
I will be sure to give an update when we return home and let you know if Welcome to Rockville 2025 VIP is worth it, and how this festival compares to Sick New World.
See you there, Chevelle!
Are you headed to Welcome to Rockville 2025, or any of the other music festivals coming in the summer? Any with Chevelle? Let me know in the comments.
