Take Out the Gunman is the third song on Chevelle’s seventh album, La Gárgola. That makes sense because that album is dedicated to Pete’s love of horror movies.
I can imagine Pete watching some creepy movie where the monster gets shot in the head, and he’s writing lyrics in his mind about it.
