We just finished up our 2024 Summer concert season. Here’s who we saw (in order):
- Chevelle (of course!)
- Slipknot
- Creed
- Falling in Reverse
- Korn
So many great bands came our way this year!
And now we’re gearing up to get tickets for Sick New World 2025. Looks like Metallica is headlining this year.
Some people are upset about that, but we’re happy about it! Metallica is coming to town in the summer, but the tickets are going to cost two arms and two legs. So we don’t mind seeing them in Vegas instead.
I would love to see System of a Down again, but I doubt they will be there if Metallica’s there.
We’ll have to wait and see!
Now I’m just crossing all my fingers and toes that Chevelle makes it back there! The lineup should be announced soon.
Now back to the Chevelle concert…
It was on August 3, 2024. We paid for Premium seats (check out how blogging helped me pay for them), and those were disappointing, but I’ll get back to that in a minute…

I have to say…
The boys (especially Pete) brought a lot of energy to this concert!
My husband commented:
“They have to. They’re headlining.”
Good point!
Of course, I loved seeing the guys and I can’t wait to do it again. But here are two things that were disappointing:
- I thought their new album would be out by now and they would incorporate some new songs into the setlist. But, alas, that didn’t happen. (There were a couple of different songs added, and I’ll show you the setlist in a minute.)
- Our “premium” seats were not too good!
The most annoying thing about this concert were the seats. We had General Admission in front of us, and General Admission behind us, and we were kind of in the middle.
That was fine.
But what was weird about our seats were the people. No one stood up when the boys starting playing!
We almost always get seats at concerts these days, and I have never been to a concert where everyone sits!
It was so weird!
I can’t sit while Chevelle is playing. So my daughter and I stood off to the side. My husband and son felt uncomfortable doing that, so they stayed seated.
Maybe you’re wondering, Why get seats if you’re not going to sit?”
(My son actually asked that question.)
2 reasons:
- So you have your own personal space. Getting stuck with all the drunk people on the floor while they’re sweaty and moshing into you is fun when you’re in your 20s. But not now.
- So you can sit in between acts. You give your feet and legs a rest while the band gets set up.
It would have been a better experience if we sat upstairs in the balcony, or if we were in General Admission on the floor.
We’re too old for the floor, but that’s where the fun people were.

My favorite addition to the setlist was Family System! It was so good to hear that one live.
I wish they would switch their setlist up a bit more. They have an endless amount of amazing songs in their library.
I would love to hear songs like Get Some, Sleep Apnea, Peach, Piñata, Shot from a Cannon, and anything from Point #1.
But maybe that’s just me.
Their meet & greet
The band had a meet & greet thing going on for this tour:
If you mentioned where and when you were seeing Chevelle on social media and tagged them, you had a chance to “win” a spot to meet them.
Maaaannnn, I really wanted that spot. I tried. I really did.
But I didn’t get in.
However…
A few members of the band and their crew got really sick the day after the Jersey show! They had to postpone and change the other tour dates. Pete said he was sick for about 10 days in this video.
So…maybe it was a good thing I didn’t get in.
Then again, I still think it would have been worth the risk.
